Beak & Barrel Reservations Delayed After Disney Dining Crash – New Launch Date Announced.

Thursday August 14th, 2025… the day you’ll always remember as the day you almost caught a Beak & Barrel Reservation.

Disney’s long-awaited Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, was supposed to make its reservation debut on August 14. Instead, the entire Disney World dining reservation system went down link a sinking ship and stayed that way for hours. (Thoughts and prayers to the Disney IT department.)

By the end of the day, Disney updated the lounge’s restaurant page with this message:

“Arrgh! Too many pirates tried to pillage at The Beak and Barrel. Thank you for yer patience. Come back for the treasure ye seek when reservations set sail the week of August 18, 2025.”

So… some time this week. Maybe. Way to be specific Disney.👍

But now there’s an actual release date again. Last night Disney quietly updated the message on The Beak and Barrel’s restaurant page to this:

“Ahoy, me hearties! Those seeking the treasures of The Beak and Barrel can begin charting their course when reservations launch on August 20, 2025 at 7 p.m. ET.”

So what went wrong? We still don’t know and will probably never know. All that matters is that we have an official new launch date. Reservations for The Beak and Barrel will officially launch on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The same ship can’t sink twice, right?

Same Shipwreck, Different Day?

Hopefully not. There will obviously still be an immediate frenzy of guests trying to book reservations.

I’d guess that Disney has a specific plan in place to provide some extra resources to the dining reservation system and that is why the launch time is at 7:00 PM ET instead of the usual 6:00 AM ET. (Note: There’s no official information about this – it’s just me making a guess based on my limited knowledge of website resources.)

How to Navigate the Chaos

Even if you miss out on the initial wave of bookings, don’t panic. Guests cancel and adjust their plans all the time, which means new openings will appear in the system after launch.

That’s where MouseWatcher comes in. If you set up a MouseWatcher alert now, we’ll monitor reservations for you — not just on opening day, but every day after right up to the same day you’re in the park. We’ll send you a text and email the moment a time opens that matches your dates. No refreshing, no stress. Just click it and book it.
